Pale purple coneflowers
June 15, 2013 at 09:52 PM
I’ve grown rather fond of taking pictures on rainy days.
And when Saturday turned out to be another day with threatening weather, there was nothing to do but go with the flow.
Between showers, there was time to photograph the pale purple coneflowers at Revis Hill Prairie in Mason County.
There’s something about overcast, rainy days that brings out the color of a scene.
Porcupine grass mixes with the coneflowers.
An extra pale purple coneflower
Revis Hill Prairie is a state nature preserve. It is one of the few remaining spots where it is possible to glimpse Illinois’ prairie past.
