How many days a year do you hunt? 40 or more

Favorite piece of gear? Remington 1100 shotgun. I bought it with my first income tax refund. I loved it since first I held it. The outdoor ad that called it Automagic hooked me good.

Gear you splurged on? Browning XT trap gun. I love to shoot and enjoy the people (young and old) where I shoot.

Most memorable outing in Illinois? I would have to say when our hunting party of my brother, two nephews, two family friends and myself harvested deer the first day of the shotgun season. It was hard to pick one. I have many memories of both sucess and failure.

What got you interested in hunting? My older brother Pat, the movie Jeremiah Johnson (I always wanted to be a Mountain Man) and the hunting magazines at Knibs IGA in Bunker Hill that was a block away from where I lived for awhile.

How long have you been hunting? About 36 years or so.

Favorite species to hunt? That is a tough one. I love to hunt deer and wild turkeys, but it's also hard to beat a shot at a flushing bird or one decoying well.

What breed hunting dog do you have? Chesapeake Bay retriever

Favorite places to hunt in Illinois? Pike County
